Rising Organizer Program
We believe responsive, accountable, and truly representative governance begins with the campaign. Far too often, volunteers are given endless numbers of people to contact, used to do the hard work, and barely trained. Far too often, campaigns reach out to people to win their vote and disappear after election day. We think it’s time to do things differently.
Meet the Rising Organizer Program.
This is your program. East County Rising is here to provide tools and resources to make it easy to take action together and facilitate a space to learn and grow together as Rising Organizers. We have opportunities to engage and make change happen in a variety of ways. Let us know how you want to get involved.
Build New Connections
The many crises and uncertainties we face demand connection with our communities to ensure everyone’s voice is heard. To do so, we invite you to write postcards to a group of 40 voters and follow up by calling and messaging. Check out the voter engagement plan here.
Activate Your Network
The power to effectively organize and make change happen comes from our relationships. We can help you build on your existing connections in East Multnomah County, engaging your network and helping them realize their political power.
Attend an Activating Your Network 101 session to get started! This will include:
An activity to build the list of your network
A training on a great tool that can help us organize
A discussion about what you can ask people to do
Opportunities to connect with fellow organizers and learn from each other
